Directions:Take I-5 to Exit 119 and turn right on Steliacoom-DuPont Road when you get off the highway. Turn right again into Barksdale Station.  The space is located behind the first building that Starbucks is in.  Look for the space located next to the ATM machine there.

What to Bring:
Bring yourself - your family - your friends.....if you can or want to bring something else, here are some ideas:

Bring packaged goodies for the boxes - chocolate (it's not so hot now), nuts, chews, candy, chips, gum, Crystal light or other flavored drink packets to add to their water, cookies, protein bars, jerky, whatever you think will make them smile! They love to give candy out to the Iraqi kids, so any kind of candy is good too!
Bring a snack, dessert, munchies if you want - other food will be provided

Other Options: There is an account set up at Venture Bank where you can make a monetary donation to this cause. The mailing of the packages is very spendy and so whatever help you can give is appreciated!

Operation Make a Soldier Smile!
According to Denise Dhane from Dhane Orthodontics, there has been overwhelming enthusiasm about the packages the soldiers are receiving. So much so that Denise is going to do it again! For those of you who don't know what this is, a group of DuPont residents and business owners got together and stuffed boxes with goodies, labeled the boxes to soldiers in Iraq, and sent them off! The last time we met there were at least 30 people helping and we stuffed over 120 boxes, had a wonderful time, and enjoyed Pizza provided by Farelli's!

Denise has received an overwhelming response from soldiers and their families about what these packages have meant to them. Some of the soldiers don't receive anything from home, and this can brighten their whole experience. There has been much talk about this operation that Denise started, and many people want to get involved, including the press. Denise hopes to get the names and addresses of every DuPont soldier serving in Iraq so that we can send packages to each of them, and she hopes to get participation from the businesses and families in DuPont to make this a huge success that can carry on until the war ends.

If you have a soldier in Iraq, or know someone who does, please get the name and address of that person to Denise at denisedhane@qwest.net, or to Karen Dunn at kdunn@farmersagent.com.

Also please get the word out to all of the people you know who have soldiers in Iraq so that they can get involved.
